My debut book, Betty Jean Blue to the Rescue, is inspired by the work I do to help foster dogs. The story follows Betty Jean to the dog park, where she finds Dannie abandoned at the fence. Betty’s friends tell her to leave Dannie alone; they say stray dogs don’t belong at the dog park.
